January in April

This might just become a habit...posting every other month, catching up on the larger items of our life. It is a shame that I don't document the smaller things that make our life so enjoyable together, ah, to be a fly on the wall during our nightly conversations, the odd stuff I come up with, the humorous responses from my witty husband and our ever going infatuation with out-"drawing" each other with whose stick figures are the coolest and who can guess our clues fastest, if you have no clue what we're talking about then you should really download "Draw Something" app for your smart phone and start a game with one of us. In other "small" news Brad and I have beat Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 on our Playstation, now we have to go back and get 100% by casting spells on all the things we couldn't during our first round. It's silly, I know, two grown adults, playing video games, and not even adult video games! I'm sad that we won't have any more Lego Harry Potter games. I guess I'll have to find another one that strikes my fancy (and more importantly, matches my skill level). Now, onto the bigger stories and catching up... January I went on a trip to Tahoe with my friend Erica. It was pretty sad to see Tahoe so barren over MLK Jr Day! That's usually a huge ski weekend and Tahoe was lacking an ever so important ingredient to skiing...SNOW. You can see some snow on the beach, on the logs, but pretty much the pictures remind me of summer, certainly not winter, except for maybe the fact that I'm wearing a beanie.
The big even for January was BRAD'S BIRTHDAY! The big 29! I can't believe I'm married to someone who's almost 30, still seems so old and far away... Brad's parents came to town for the weekend, we went out to dinner at Old Fisherman's Grotto and on Saturday we had a dinner party with friends. It also just so happens that Devin recently moved to CA and his birthday is 2 days before Brad's so we did a double celebration candle blow-out. I'm really horrible at taking pictures of others, I've decided I'm completely obsessed with Brad and nature/details and pretty much nothing else...so...sorry to not represent the occasion very well with who was there with us, but for fun, here's the roll call: Rita, Kim, Devin, Michael, Gabi, Kai, Erica, Brad, and myself.
Last even in January, we went to an art exhibit opening. They had a women's Japanese drumming group that was awesome and then the art itself was very unique. I really found the safety pin artwork intriguing. Art is so subjective, but I liked some of this stuff. If you look closely you can see the safety pins, and also paper clips wrapped in newspaper and other paper scraps.
This is all the blogging energy I can muster tonight. You will have to wait to see what exciting adventures we've been up to in February and March.

  1. You said "adult" video games. Gasp! Bradley, I'm shocked at your behavior young-ish man!
One thing missing...Brad's super giant lizard fish. Still not as big as some other spearo's in the area, but even a blind squirrel...well you know. :p
