01 March 2013

Remember, remember... the month of November?

Yes, it's March, but I'm still stuck in November...for now.But at least I'm doing it.

What happened in November?

Well, we voted. Yep... that's all I'll say about that.

We went to the Dominican Republic,so if you missed it, here it is.

My mom had a birthday, Happy Birthday Mom!  (Here she is showing off her new apron which her most favorite daughter hand crafted just for her)

Thanksgiving! It was wonderful, we ate more than we should ever eat in one day, but that's what we do to celebrate, right?

PASTA! Probably the highlight of November for me was making homemade pasta with my mom and Grandmother. We decided we were going to have an Italian Christmas, so we were making all our pasta ahead of time to freeze it, that way Christmas day we could just cook it and enjoy being with each other rather than slaving over the dough all day.

And of course the best part of making pasta is being able to eat all the mis-formed ones and the scraps for dinner than night! Yummo! We had cheese raviolis, gnocchi, ragu (which my mom learned to make in Italy by a sweet Italian woman), and pink sauce. One thing's for sure, I didn't leave with an empty stomach!

  1. Cute apron and cute, cute pictures! I've never seen a ravioli press, that is pretty awesome! Looks like it was a fun day!

  2. Yummy!! I love all your cooking experiments. Also, I'm totally still stuck back in December or something. I've pretty much abandoned my blog!
