Mid-Week Vacation

Brad and I had a little mid-week vacation last week and it was wonderful! He won a free night at an Inn in Cambria last year around this time, but it was not valid on weekends, so we never really had a chance to use it. It was going to expire this month, so we decided it was a close enough location that we could spend the night on a Wednesday and drive to work on Thursday morning and life wouldn't be too disrupted. It was a lot of fun and a nice little break in the middle of the week.

Cambria is a cute little town right on the coast and our Inn was about 30 feet from the beach. It was beautiful! We went out to dinner, watched the sunset, went back to our room and got ready to go in the hot tub... One problem...the hot tub had been drained earlier that day and for whatever reason it was not hot, so we dipped into the heated pool, which was in fact warmer than the hot tub, and then quickly decided that it was not warm enough to justify being outside in the coastal breeze. We went back to the room, turned on the fireplace and snuggled into our huge comfy bed and watched a little TV.

After a good night's rest we went to the breakfast room and had a lovely complementary breakfast of mini waffles, oatmeal, pastries and orange juice. Probably the best complementary breakfast ever...mainly because I love pastries, so anytime I get them for breakfast and they're yummy, I'm happy!
