I don't know about you, but unless there's some kind of emergency, I'm not running, and even then it's iffy. But Brad has now participated in 3 Ragnar Relay races, each being somewhere around 200 miles each...give or take a few miles. Two have been in Utah, and this last one was in Vegas. For those of you unfamiliar with Ragnar, they are relay races for a team of 6 or 12 people and you take turns running different legs of the race for somewhere around 30 hours...for more detail google it. I think it's crazy and the amount of pain Brad was in after the first one I thought for sure he wouldn't subject himself to that again, but I guess he has built up a tolerance because he didn't hurt nearly as bad this time around. Needless to say, I don't think that was the last Ragnar. He and his buddies are now talking about going to a race in Florida, and apparently there are two in California...
Here are some pictures from the latest race in Vegas. The team he was on was called "Revenge of the Mullets." And yes, they wore their wigs the whole time! INSANITY!

I really enjoyed looking at the other team names and costumes. Here are my favorites. The car is self explanatory, but the person running, she's wearing a fried egg costume, can you guess their team name? I thought it was so clever! They were "Scrambled Legs and Achin"! Haha!

Brad is not alone in his insanity, two of his friends were also at the race on another team and all of Brad's immediate family (and some extended) have participated in at least one race.

And lastly, Brad's team was such a huge hit, they literally became celebrities. These ladies approached Brad and asked to have their picture with him. Apparently that was like the tenth time it happened! I think he just looked so believable with his Mullet! He's hot even with long hair!

I'm so proud of him, even if I don't understand the enjoyment. He has accomplished so much and I am in constant awe of his motivation!
That is pretty much awesome. I'm so proud of Brad for wearing a mullet wig! Rachel and Shane did that same race, did you happen to see them? Well it looks like Brad had a lot of fun, but I totally agree that running is not fun.
ReplyDeleteWe did see Rachel and Shane! Which was so crazy because there were thousands of people there! We ran into them at least twice then I drove past them once. It was great to see her and finally meet Shane.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome, I love the costumes! I can't believe he ran in costume the whole time! :) Looks like there were lots of fun and creative themes.
